Colorful Hindu Ceremony at Molenvliet
I was overjoyed at the chance to paint a wedding at Molenvliet, with its lush lawns and beautiful landscape views. I looked forward to this wedding for a year and I was so excited when it finally rolled around.
The ceremony was outdoors, and the Helshoogte mountains were a gorgeous backdrop. When I arrived, the ceremony setup was nearing completion, with a breathtaking floral wall by Fleur Le Cordeur.
I set up at the back and began painting in the landscape. The ceremony was at midday and so I started painting around 7:30 am as this was a large canvas.
Soon the guests arrived, looking gorgeous in their saris and lehengas. I absolutely love Hindu wedding wear, I can't get enough of the beads and embroidery and sparkles!
The ceremony itself was beautiful, presided over by a renowned guru who explained the significance of each step of the wedding beautifully. The couple looked amazing and I loved seeing their excitement and happiness.
When the ceremony was complete the guests departed for lunch and I carried on painting so that I could set up the painting at cocktail hour.
This piece turned out to be one of my favorites to paint, thanks to the gorgeous florals, beautiful outfits and old world chic paper parasols! Such a huge thank you to Melissa l and Timaran for having me paint your stunning day!
