Sunset portrait at De Oudekraal Wedding Venue near Caledon
I met Tegan through Instagram, and I’m a huge fan of her beautiful photography! You should totally check out her amazing work here: http://tegansmithphotography.com/
She’s also a boss at wedding DIY! There were so many creative DIY aspects to her gorgeous wedding! My favourite of these were definitely the gold animal place tag holders that each guest received on their seat, along with a Lindor ball (such a sweet touch!) Nick’s favourite was the brownies that were part of the dessert table, they definitely made an impression and I’m probably going to have to up my baking game!
Tegan and Tim had a stunning outdoor ceremony at De Oudekraal Wedding Venue outside of Caledon, and the scenery was rustic and very romantic!
Tegan chose a gorgeous field at sunset as the location of her couple’s portrait, and I got started early in the day, as the canvas was A1 size.
I had so much fun capturing the beautiful landscape and painting in a romantic sunset before the wedding started. Once the ceremony concluded, the cocktail hour commenced while the bridal couple took photos in the surrounding fields.
I moved my easel right out into the fields so that I could capture Tegan and Tim while they took some of their couple shots. It was drizzling a little, but luckily acrylic paint is quite resilient and is also water soluble, so it wasn’t a problem. After I had captured them, I set up the painting by the gift table on display, and Nick and I were lucky enough to spend the rest of the evening as guests, as Tegan had kindly organized this for us.
The whole wedding was amazing, and we just loved the venue, with its fairy lights and gorgeous set up. I also loved that Tegan had a live singer for their first dance and cocktail hour. It really added such a special dimension to the first dance, and anyone looking for a live singer should really get in touch with Misha, her voice is incredible.
Thanks so much to Tegan and Tim for including me in their special day!
